About Janet
Hi, I’m Janet Edwards.
I created The Overseas Caregiver because caring from another country is emotionally heavy and logistically messy. My job is to help you bring clarity, calm, and a workable plan so you can support your parents back home with confidence and heart.
Why I do this.
When you live overseas, you carry two lives at once. You are building your future where you are, while worrying about your parents where they are. Most families try to “figure it out as they go” until something forces a decision. That is when costs rise, choices shrink, and stress peaks.
I built a practical system to help you act earlier, communicate better with family, and put the right care and contingency plans in place before a crisis makes the decisions for you.
I help you:
Understand what care is needed now and what is likely next
Create a simple care plan your family can actually follow
Coordinate support and reduce avoidable emergencies
Make confident decisions from overseas, without constant second guessing
Feel less alone in the process
If you are a South African expat trying to manage care back home, you are exactly who I built this for.
My promise to you
You will gain a clear plan, the right next steps, and a system you can reuse as your parent’s needs change. This is not generic advice. It is practical, human, and built for the realities of caring across borders. You don't have to read the ebook in chapter order - just jump to the one you need right now and work on the others later.
I’m not here to scare you or overwhelm you. I’m here to help you take the next right step, with compassion and clear thinking. You do not need to do everything today, but you do need a plan.
