I'M HERE TO HELP
Who can relate to the following...
Hi, I’m Janet. I’ve lived in Australia for over 20 years, but a big part of my heart always remained in South Africa with my parents. Over those years, I learned how to care for them from afar — through trial, error, perseverance, and systems that brought balance into my life and theirs.
In 2019, I lost my mom, and in early 2025, my dad passed too. Navigating end-of-life arrangements from a distance was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done — filled with tears, anguish, and tough lessons.
It also made me realise: there are so many other South African migrants abroad facing the same challenges, wishing for a little more structure and guidance. That’s why I created The Overseas Caregiver’s Guide — to share the tools and systems that gave me peace of mind, and to help you feel confident and calm as you care for your parents back home.
You don’t have to do this alone.
